Ch. 11: Arial de Grey, One Intimate Relationship Ends, Another Soon Begins… A spiral that goes round and round… RP with character Headie & Taian

August 23rd 1455 (2007)

Quote:
Coming home from the falls she sees a pie by her front door. She picks it up and sees that there is a note with it. She smiles when she sees that it’s from Ada “I hope all is well with her and that she visits once in a while.” she thinks as she opens the door and walks in.

She looks around her living room when she comes in and realises how lonely she will be now. “Thought when I get married it wouldn’t be so bad but now I will never know if it will or not. I guess I will be alone with only my cat to keep me company. Oh well at least I have friends, they always make me feel better even when I am down,” she thinks to herself as she is looks around her quiet home.

Even though she doesn’t show it she isn’t as happy as she seems to be. She fakes a smile so no one will ask any questions, and says that she is fine and ok when she isn’t. “At least I have been busy for a while. Haven’t had time to think about it.The falls were nice at least while I was there I didn’t have to think about how lonely it will be here. It was nice meeting Taian there. He was an interesting man and his eyes were an interesting color. Wonder what the ruins will be like?” She thinks to herself as she finishes feeding her cat.

The next day she gets up and goes to the market like she always does and the town hall. After going there she walks towards the ruins hoping that Taian will be there.

…

Coming back from the ruins she was very tired. When she git to her bedroom she laid in her bed and thought about the day. “Today was an interesting day. Never knew there where so many places to explore there. That bird was interesting too, weird that it came up to Taian like that. Like it belonged to him. There is something strange about it, not sure what, but something. Oh well, guess it doesn’t really matter. I had a good time, and I hope to see Taian again soon. I will go visit him when I get back from Shrewsbury,” she thinks to herself before she falls asleep.

Right before she fell asleep she remembered something. “Oh no! I didn’t tell him that I will be leaving to Shrewsbury in the morning! Oh well, he said when the time is right to visit.” That was her last thought before she went fell into a deep sleep.

…

The next morning she wakes up refreshed and happy for the first time in a while. She goes about her normal routine with a little smile on her face.

“Well, I guess I better get everything ready for the trip. It will take me three days. I am suppose to go with Jon, but I don’t know if I will. Might just end up going by myself,” she thinks to herself as she sits at her kitchen table. As she is sitting there she looks at the dying flowers in the middle of her table. “I probably should throw these out,” she thinks to herself as she remembers who gave them to her and lets out a sigh because the next day he ended there marriage. “I will not let it get to me anymore. I will be on my way to Shrewsbury and I don’t want to be depressed. I hope this trip is a good one and helps me get over him,” she thinks to herself as she walks towards her room to pack.

As she gets everything ready she notices that the ring he gave her is on the table. “I better send this back to him. I wont be needing it anymore,” she says as she picks it up.

When she is done packing she puts the bag over her shoulder and walks to the kitchen to get an envelope. She doesn’t say anything she just puts the ring in and seals it.

When she is ready to leave she picks up the envelope and walks out the door. She asks her neighbors if they will watch Kitty and her house for her, and as always they do.

When she gets to town she finds someone to send the “message” to Rexx. After that is done she goes to the tavern and talks for awhile, then tells her goodbyes to them.

After that she walks out of the tavern and on her way to Lichfield, to Stafford, and then Shrewsbury.

(OOC: These 3 posts are a little late. I was going to wait until I got back to Coventry to post them, but I decided to post them now. )
Quote:
Headdie decides to head over to Arial’s pad since someone woke him up, while he was chillin on his wall at Leana’s.
Head looks everywhere for her but can not find her. He sends Miogi and Mr.Giggles into her house to look for her. They indicate she isnt there.
Head decides to sit and wait on her doorstep for her to return.
“Oh where oh were could my Arial be. Some Ahole took her away from me.Shes gone to ? and I gotta be a tomato egg so I can see my Arial when she comes back to this place…”
Headdie thinks to himself he could probably work on this song later.
Quote:
Coming back from her long trip she feels happier than she has been for a while. She finally feels that she can get over the whole marriage ending, and move on with her life. She is glad that she went on the trip because it made her feel a lot better. She met a lot of nice people and will probably visit Shrewsbury again in the future. On her way back she passed through Birmingham to see what the town was like. She stayed there a couple of days along with Mordrid and Apragon. “People there were nice and fun, but I could never live there. I hope Rexx and the rest of them like it there, but that town isn’t for me,” she thinks to herself as she walks up her steps.

As she gets to her steps she finds Headdie there. “What are you doing here? I guess that doesn’t really matter. I am glad you decided to come by. I just got back into town would you like to come in?” She asks as she walks to her door. When she gets there she looks down and finds a letter from Lord from hell. “Oh, it’s nice hearing from him. I haven’t heard from him in a while,” she says as she goes inside.

She noticed as she came in that the door wasn’t closed all the way and that it smelt funny inside. “Hmm… has someone been in my house? And what is that smell?” she thinks to herself has Headdie enters, along with Miogi and Mr. Giggles. “Did you come in here while I was gone?” she says as she looks around the living room.

As she walks around looking at everything and making sure everything was there and where it should be she notices some droppings on the floor. “Did you let Miogi and Mr. Giggles in here?” She asks looking at him.
Quote:
Taian strolled up the street, with a bit of a spring in his steps as he was eager to see Arial. He couldn’t wait for her to come visit, he had to be the first one to see her upon her return. Something that he was not entirely sure why he had to do. It just seemed right to him. I wonder if she’s made it home yet, he thought too himself, not wanting to arrive before her.

As he approached her house he noticed Headdenz sitting at the doorstep and knew that she had to be there. His head raced with questions he wanted to ask. Wondering how her trip went, and if she met any interesting people. It would all have to wait, of course. He hadn’t even seen her yet! He said a gentle, “Hello,” to Headdenz as he rapped a single knuckle on the half-open door.
Quote:
As she is standing in her living room she hears a soft knock. She turns and walks to the door to see who it is.

She smiles when she sees it’s Taian. “Hey,” she says and gives him a hug. “Come in, sorry about the smell looks like Headdie let he his little friends in while I was gone and one of them had an accident on the floor.” She tells Taian as she invites him in.
Quote:
Laughing at the antics of Headdenz and his pets, Taian steps in with Arial. The hug seemed to rekindle the cinnamon color which had been all but gone from his eyes since she had left. “I couldn’t wait to see you, sorry for the unexpected visit.” As he looked around he noticed how homely the house seemed. He was comfortable here, and that was saying much since he wasn’t quite comfortable anywhere. He couldn’t help but smile. and I had nerve enough to invite her to a cave…
Quote:
“Oh it’s ok I am glad you came. I was planning on visiting you anyway. Still haven’t been by your cave,” she says looking at Taian.

“I better get this cleaned up. No I will have Headdie clean it up,” she says looking towards Headdie. She laughs a little as he grumbles and mumbles something under his breath.

She gets out the things for him and watches him clean it up. Making sure he doesn’t miss anything. After that she tells them both to have a seat in the living room while she goes and puts her bag in her bedroom. When she comes back she sits down on the coach.

“So, how have you both been? How are things in town? It feels like I have been gone longer than I really was,” she says looking towards Headdie and Taian.

She starts to wonder where Miogi and Mr. Giggles went off too.
Quote:
“I have been wonderful, to say the least. I bought a field and am now happily planting wheat,” Taian stopped for a moment to look into Arial’s eyes…

“But that is all the news I have, really. Other than Arthur summoned someone of highest nobility to a funeral for a sheep whilst I was smoking cloves at the cemetary. It was quite the site,” he said with a bit of laughter and a twinge of green creeping into his eyes, “How was your trip? I suppose the travel has made you quite weary. I know it would’ve me. What wonderful things you must have seen!”
Quote:
Headdie: RUNS AWAY SCREAMING SOMETHING ABOUT AN ANATOLIAN SAQUATCH
Quote:
Right when she was about to answer she sees Headdie run out the door screaming something about an anatolian saquatch. She stares at the door for a few seconds after he left. She laughs a little and looks back at Taian.

“I had a really nice trip. I met a lot of nice people, and my travels were safe. I haven’t really seen any wonderful things, well not that I would call wonderful. I went to a feastival in Lichfield, and met one of my family members there. Shrewsbury was a nice town. I probably will travel there again in the future. Stafford was quiet and didnt have many people. I also went through Birmingham. There was more people there and they all were nice too but I still missed Coventry. It didn’t feel the same there, or anywhere. I am glad to be back and probably wont be traveling for a while,” she says all this while still looking at Taian.

“So, you got a wheat field now? That’s good. I also have a wheat field. Arthur had a funeral for his sheep? How sweet. I dont think I would have a funeral for my animals,” She says laughing a little.
Quote:
Largely surprised at Headdenz sudden evacuation of the premises, and feeling a quickening of heart from his screaming, Taian could only stare at the doorway for a moment, Just what is an Anatolian Sasquatch? Taian wondered.

“Well,” Taian laughed a bit, “How was the festival? I’m sure you met some interesting people, but they don’t concern me really. The oddities have my affection, which reminds me” he stopped for a moment and looked into Arial’s eyes with a smile, “I discovered quite the interesting cave at the falls. I believe it to be unexplored, as it was rather hard to find.”

He looked around the room again, “You know you have quite the lovely home,” he gestured toward the window, “but I rather like the breeze outside. Would you mind accompanying me to the shade of a tree somewhere?”
Quote:
“I met some people there but not many. I didn’t stay long anyway. Really a cave? We should explore it sometime. I enjoyed the ruins,” she says looking at Taian. “Sure, lets go outside. It’s a nice day out and I don’t want to waste it stuck inside all day. Anywhere you would like to go?” She asks as she stands up.
Quote:
Taian thought for a moment and then said, “Well we did have plans for tea at my home.” His eyes lit up a wonderful green color and he added, “I think a picnic in my courtyard would be wonderful. Lots of air and green trees!”
Quote:
“That sounds nice,” she says smiling at Taian. “I have been wanting to go to your cave. That was going to be my first stop actually, but you surprised me by coming here. Which I am glad you did,” she says still smiling.
Quote:
Taian stood and offered his hand to Arial, “Shall we then?”
Quote:
“Yes,” she says taking his hand. Then they toward the door and down the street.

August 30th to September 2nd 1455 (2007)

Visiting Taian….

Quote:
As Taian arrived, in the company of Arial, he took in the stonework of his entryway. I am a wonderful mason, he thought to himself with a feeling of pride. He opened the wooden door, with small effort, and it groaned it’s protest against the fresh paint of the door jamb. The wonderful air blew in past him as he gently led Arial in by the hand.

Once inside he lit quite a few candles before passing the flame to a cawing Floyd. The bird continued about the house lighting the way through before crowing a, “Welcome Home!” back to Taian and his company. Floyd cocked his head sideways when he noticed it was Arial and let out a gentle chortle to express his happiness at finally seeing her again.

“Well, here it is,” Taian turned to face Arial, “I just finished the work last night. The paint may be fresh in some places still.”
Quote:
As they get to Taian’s cave she looks at the outside. “It looks a lot better than when Luke had it. Taian did a good job,” she thinks to herself as they walk in.

She studies the inside and notices that it feels homely even if it is a cave. She watches as Taian lights a few candles and passes the flame to Floyed. She smiles when he welcomes home Taian and lets out a happy chortle for seeing me again. “He is a smart bird to know how to talk…” she thinks to herself while looking at Floyed.

“You have a very nice home. For a cave, it feels homely. I haven’t had a chance to come here when Luke lived here. It is really nice. You did a great job on it,” she says looking at Taian.
Quote:
“Thank you,” the two words were all Taian could muster in return, not wanting to sound full of himself and explain the details about such a transformation. After all, It was just a cave when I purchased it. Taian smirked at the thought. His head lofty with compliments.

“Through here is the courtyard,” Taian said as he led Arial through the opening and into the sky-lit hallway. The stone pillars standing imposing height above even Taian’s head. Through another passageway a lattice door that resembled a spiderweb blocked the entrance to the courtyard. The light coming in through the lattice was tinted a strange green. It created a surreal atmosphere in the passageway that seemed rather peaceful.

Taian pushed open the lattice door and stepped out into the fresh breeze in the courtyard. Stone benches could be seen around the outer edges of the walled in yard. He led Arial to one of them and asked her, “Wait here a moment and I will bring some toast and jellies,” Taian took a moment to look around, “and I believe it is a good day for orange tea. I think we will have Pekoe. Would you like it with honey, cream, or both?”
Quote:
As they walked through the opening and into the hallway Arial looks around her. “Never would guess that a cave could look like this,” she thinks to herself as she looks around at the high stone pillars. As they get to another passage she sees a door that looks like a spiderweb. “I have never seen a door like that before, and that light coming through is interesting,” she thinks right before Taian walks to the door.

As Taian opend the door she enters after him, feeling the breeze in her hair and thinking to herself. “This is a very nice place. It gives you a peaceful feeling.”

She follows Taian to the stone benches and sits down on one of them. “I would like both, please,” she says to Taian after looking around the courtyard.
Quote:
Taian disappeared back through the doorway as Floyd flew out and perched on a low hanging branch near Arial. He chirped out, “Arial!” with a flutter of his wings.

A short time later Taian reappeared in the courtyard with a wooden tray lined with an assortment of breads and two small bowls filled to the brim with jellies and spreadable cheeses. He set it on an outcropping of rock in the wall near Arial before returning once more through the doorway. This time he came back with two small cups in one hand and a ceramic pot shaped like a spiral in the other. He set the cups down and poured an already creamed tea that smelled very similar to oranges. “I found this courtyard nearly like it is now. The doorway was even there, but there were quite the amount of downed leaves piled in here. The sad part of so many green trees, I guess,” Taian said in a quiet and relaxed tone of voice. He handed Arial her cup and took a seat beside her, “Hope you like the tea. It’s nothing like the teas they serve here. It’s made with green leaves from the lands of Cathay and mixed with all sorts of wonderful spices.”
Quote:
As she is sitting and waiting for Taian to return she sees Floyd fly out and perch himself an a branch near her. “Oh? You have learned my name. You are a smart bird,” she says with a smile to Floyd.

When she sees Taian reappear with the bread, jellies, and cheeses she realized she hasn’t ate since the morning. After he sets them down she waits for him to come back with the tea. When he does he mentions that the court yard. “Yeah, I am sure there would be,” she responds after he mentions the downed leaves that were piled here.

As he hands her the cup of tea she smiles and thanks him. Taking the a sip of her tea she could taste the spices in it, not quite sure what they are, but she likes the way it tastes. “This doesn’t taste like any of the teas here. I like it,” she says and takes another sip of the tea.
Quote:
“The fact that they call it ‘tea’ is a bit of irony. There’s not very much actual tea in it at all,” Taian said with a mischievous smile, “and what little there tea is in this is green, and not brown.”

Taian snatched up a piece of pumpernickel from the tray and spread an orange colored jam atop it. After taking a few nips, he noticed that Floyd was eying the tray and decided it would be best to feed him. He pulled a few different slices of toast and spread cheese on one, grape jelly on another, and left the final one plain. After doing so he set the bread on the bench next to him and Arial before whistling.

Floyd, with a flutter of wings, floated down and started to peck at the toasts, getting jelly and cheese all over his beak and head.

“He should have been born a pig the way he eats,” Taian told Arial, turning his attention back to her. He noticed that she wasn’t eating, “I seem to have forgotten my manners. My apologies. It is traditional in this country for the host to serve the food, right?” He pulled a thin white slice of toast off the platter and spread an odd green colored jelly on it. “This is a pepper jelly it has a… ” Taian trailed off for a moment, trying to find a suitable word, “unique flavor. It brings out the orange flavor of the tea quite well, though.”

Taian took a long sip of his tea, breathing the wonderfully aromatic steam coming from atop his cup. Floyd cawed a rough,”Thank You” toward Taian bringing him back from his thoughts. He once again looked at Arial with the odd cinnamon color in his eyes.
Quote:
Arial laughs as she watches Floyed eat. “Must have been hunger,” she says looking at Floyed and then looks back at Taian. “oh, thanks. Pepper jelly? she says looking at Taian. She isn’t sure if she wants to try it at first, but she decides too. She slowly takes a bite, not sure on how it would taste. Surprisingly it tasted pretty good. “Hmm… it does have an interesting taste to it. I like it though,” she says.

She smiles when she notices the cinnamon color in Taian’s eyes. “He sure has some interesting eyes…” she thinks to herself.
Quote:
Taian caught Arial looking into his eyes and began to wonder why. He could not find reason to look anybody in the eyes other than to see if they were lying and the very notion found him off of his guard. “I have yet to find out what people find so fascinating about my eyes. Are they a strange color? I wouldn’t know as I’ve never seen them,” Taian asked.

He could only sip his tea and stare into Arial’s eyes as he awaited her response.
Quote:
She blushes a little when she realizes that she was staring. “They are an interesting color. They also change, I have never seen eyes change like yours. There a cinnamon color right now. I have never seen eyes that color before,” she says looking at him, but not his eyes.
Quote:
“They change? I haven’t heard of such a thing, nor cinnamon colored eyes for that matter,” Taian took another bite of his pumpernickel and began again, “I am sure they are no comparison for your gorgeous eyes.”

Taian noticed her face was flush and thought, I hope the jelly wasn’t too hot.
Quote:
Blushes again from what Taian said about her eyes. ” I have never seen eyes like yours. That’s why I was looking at them. Sorry if it made you uncomfortable or if I was being rude,” she says.

She finishes the toast and drinks the rest of tea in her cup.
Quote:
“Uncomfortable? I would think quite the opposite,” Taian said blushing a bit himself, but smiling all the more, “I haven’t felt this comfortable around anyone since I was a child.”

Taian refilled Arial’s cup and took some dark wheat toast and spread sweetened cream cheese atop it before handing it to her. He then supped the last of his tea and crunched down the last of his piece of pumpernickel.

“Would it be too forward to say that my heart jumps at the very sound of your voice?”
Quote:
She thanks him for the tea and bread. She ate some of the bread and took a sip of the tea. Hearing what he said she almost choked on the tea. She was a little surprised at that. She was silent for a few moments. Not quite sure on what to say.

“Wasn’t expecting that,” she says and then pauses for a moment before continueing. While looking at the bread try she says ” I haven’t been happy in a while. Not since my engagment ended. But since I have met you I have been happy again. I haven’t felt this way since I was with Rexx, that was who I was engaged too, but even then it didn’t feel the same. Guess it was best that it ended. I didn’t get to see him as much as I wanted too. He is moving anyway. I can’t move from here, I would miss it too much. I am a little glad my engagement ended. I probably would have never met you if it didn’t.” When she finishes she looks back at Taian.
Quote:
“I figured you wouldn’t expect it. My emotions are something that hide from me, even. I just realized it this moment, and that is why it came out in such a blunt manner,” Taian started to say, not knowing if an answer even existed in the rambled sentences he had just heard from Arial, “I am not the type to rush into things. I simply meant that I don’t feel so empty with you around.”

Taian’s eyes sparkled as he took a drink of tea and looked up into the wonderfully blue sky. It seemed to him to be the perfect day. Whether it was the wonderful company or mild weather, he didn’t know.

“I am quite lost for words,” Taian said after a long moment. He looked into Arial’s eyes, hoping that she would know what to say.
Quote:
“Yeah I don’t like to rush into things either. I would rather take things slow. I am not one to share my feelings. I sometimes am not sure on what I feel, but I am happy. I haven’t been happy in a while,” she says looking up at the sky and then back into Taian’s eyes.
Quote:
Taian, staring back into Arial’s eyes, said simply, “Let’s just be happy then. I love to try something new.”

Taian put his arm around Arial and leaned back against the stone wall, content for the first time in years.

Floyd cooed his approval.
Quote:
Feeling his arm around her she smiles and wraps her arms around him. She lays her head on his shoulder and thinks how nice the day has been. She smiles again when she hears Floyd coo.
Quote:
Taian was quite happy with the way the day turned out. He played with the end of Arial’s hair and thought, What wonderful thing will happen next

The sun shone down through a gap in the trees and seemed to separate the two from the rest of the courtyard with it’s rays. The light warmed Taian’s skin and seemed to amplify the sound of the birds and animals in the forest around them. The whole of nature seemed to be singing, or was it the wind blowing through the trees? Taian didn’t give it a second thought, and a smile came to his face that he was sure the devil himself could not remove.

“Arial,” Taian said, his voice soft and airy, “What adventure do you think tomorrow will bring?”
Quote:
Feeling the sun shining on them she closes her eyes, taking in the day. “Today turned out well. Wasn’t expecting it to turn out like this,” she thinks to herself.

“I don’t know, guess we will just have to see,” she says in a quiet voice. Opening her eyes she looks at Taian and smiles.
Quote:
Taian looked into Arial’s eyes and said, “Agreed, we will just see what happens.”

Taian pulled Arial in tighter and laid his head atop hers. He suddenly began to wonder what happened to Floyd, and he hoped that he wasn’t causing mischief somewhere. He was apt to do that after all. Then, almost as if Floyd heard his thoughts, the bird came flying over the top of the courtyard’s walls, cawing loudly.

Floyd perched himself atop a nearby branch and twitted wildly.

“What’s the matter, bird?” Taian asked without lifting his eyes toward Floyd.

The bird croaked out, “Notta!” before diving into some water in a nearby pit. He began to splash water on himself.

Taian laughed heartily and whispered in Arial’s ear, “Why don’t we go inside, before he decides to bathe us too”
Quote:
Arial laughs as Floyd divided into the water and splash himself.

Looking back at Taian she smiles and says, “Ok.”
Quote:
Taian stands and gently pulls Arial into his arms, he embraces her for a moment, looking into her eyes, before walking with her in through the lattice door and down the corridor.

“I think the lounge would be best, it has the most comfortable seating,” Taian said as they were walking, his eyes glowing their brilliant cinnamon color. Their footsteps echoed back to them from the living area as they reached the arched doorway. Taian stopped and turned to Arial once more, this time he not only embraced her, but he also leaned in so that his lips met hers.

After a moment he realized what he had just done, and with a flush face he said, “I am sorry if that was too bold, it just felt right,” as he lost himself in her eyes.
Quote:
As they embrace she is a little surprise when his lips touches hers.

“It’s ok, I didn’t mind,” she says blushing a little and looking into his eyes.
Quote:
Taian could only smile as the candlelight danced around the room and on Arial and him. It would be one of his most cherished memories he was sure.

He lead Arial into the lounge and plopped ungracefully down onto the cushions. “You know… I never knew that sowing a field of wheat could be that much work. How do you do it, Arial, and still manage to look so wonderful?”
Quote:
She sits next to Taian and blushes a little at what he said. “I usually hire for people to work in my field, but I sow others fields once in a while,” she says.

She smiles as the candlelight dances around the room.
Quote:
Taian was a bit surprised at her answer, “Hire people? I can barely afford to hire myself!” Taian laughed a bit and wrapped Arial up in his arms, “I am just a miner after all. I even live in a cave.”

Taian kissed her neck and whispered into her ear, “What would your friends in the courts say?”
Quote:
“Yeah, at first it was hard to hire people, but when I got my second field it was easier. I hire so I can work, but most of the time the money I earn goes to hiring. I get it back when my wheat and corn sell,” she says as Taian wraps his arms around her.

She smiles when he kisses her neck. She thinks about what Taian asks for a moment and then anwsers, “I am not sure what they would say.”
Quote:
“I cannot think what it would be like to work simply to pay another… I work for myself and my own pleasure, as that’s what work is for me. It has been the only reason I raise myself from my bed in the mornings. Not for profit or wealth, just for the work itself. It, prior to this, was all that I had worth enjoying. It has kept me in wonderful shape and that is my only sought reward. I fear to wither and die,” Taian said the words slowly, with some bit of meaning, and his eyes, which now swirled with innumerable colors and sparkled in the candlelight all the more, were locked upon Arial’s, “but now, now you have come along to give me a reason far better. I know that I will look forward, now, to waking. To see what lay in store for me, what adventures shall we venture, and what strange new things will I have pleasure to experience.” He took in her fair skin, it seemed wonderfully supple and infinitely soft at that very moment to him. He traced her jawline with a hand, and looked into her eyes. Her cute little nose another part of the heavenly scenery. His hands ran back into her soft, beautiful, hair as he pulled her in for another taste of her perfect lips.
Quote:
She didn’t say anything to that. All she could do was look into his eyes as he looked into hers. She places her hand on his cheek and slowly kisses him when their lips touch, not wanting it to end.

As their lips separated Taian smiled once more. He couldn’t help it. “Arial, dearest, would you like something to drink?” as the words came out he picked Arial up and carried her into the other room. She seemed small when held up against his massive chest and muscular arms.
Quote:
She wraps her arms around his neck as he picks her up. “Yes, I would like something to drink,” she says and wonders where he is carrying her too.
Quote:
As they enter through the archway into what is obviously a kitchen, with a fireplace like stove in one corner that vented through the ceiling and several sets of cabinets. Off to one side a small fall of water appeared through an opening in the cave wall and fell into a crystal basin below, shaped somewhat like a star. The water had the clean, clear, look of spring-water and was quite cold. How lucky I am to have that spring here, Taian thought as he set Arial on a nearby Egyptian lounge seat. Quickly snatching up two drinking glasses out of the cabinets, Taian proceeded to fill them with the water coming from the fall. The glass fogged as the cold water spilled down into each one. Taian looked back to Arial with a grin and said, “I hope you don’t mind water, hot tea tends to parch me.”

He handed Arial one of the glasses and set down beside her on the lounge. “You know, you look almost like one of the heathen goddesses when laying in such a manner.”
Quote:
Arial smiles as he sits her down and watches him fill the cups with water. “I don’t mind water,” she says to Taian. She thanks him for the water when he hands her the cup and takes a drink.

She smiles again at what he said. Looking at him and says, “I doubt that I do.”
Quote:
“Do not get me wrong, I am not one for conflict, but I believe you do. Countless paintings have I seen in Cathay of the Diocese made them to be apparent as you are now. Suppose that maybe they thought beauty to be the godliest of all things?” Taian paused for a moment and took a drink of the cold water, “I only wish I could show you.”

Taian started to play with Arial’s hair again as he stated, “I am quite happy I fell from that bluff.”
Quote:
“I am not happy that you fell from the bluff, but if you didn’t then we may never have met and be here right now,” she says looking into his eyes. She moves her hand and strokes his cheek as she looks into his eyes.
Quote:
Taian laughed a bit and, with a twinkle in his eye, said, “It was actually quite exhilarating. It almost felt like I was a bird!”

He took another drink of water and then added, “I think I might be convinced to jump of free will.” He stared, in a sidelong way, at Arial with a playful smile waiting for her reaction.
Quote:
She laughs a little and says, “I doubt that you are really serious about that, or at least I hope you aren’t” she says with a smile looking at him.
Quote:
“We will have to see our next visit to the falls then won’t we?” Taian said jokingly before hugging Arial close to him. “How would you feel about a sunset walk through the forest?” he whispered into her ear as he playfully tickled them. “If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am quite fond of nature, and all her secrets.” The last part was very matter-of-fact in its tone, but nonetheless far from being anything but loving.
Quote:
“Guess we will,” she says jokingly back before wrapping her arms around him. “I would like a walk through the forest, and yes I have noticed. I am quite fond of nature too.”
Quote:
“What a perceptive sprite you are! I must say, though, that you leave very little about yourself to be discovered,” Taian stopped and took a long breath while looking in her eyes before continuing, “What about a family? Have you any?”
Quote:
“Yeah, I just recently found out about my family. I grew up not knowing who they were. I lived a lone with an older lady. She told me that I was left on her door steps, and that she didn’t know how I got there so she took me in.

I found out that the de Greys were my family. I have two brothers and one sister. I don’t know a lot of my family, I talk to some a little bit. We tend to keep to ourselves mostly,” she tells him taking her eyes off him as she spoke.
Quote:
Taian was more than a bit surprised at her answer, not knowing what to say or do. When she looked away he just started to talk, saying anything he could, “I am not sure of your fondness of them, but what sort of folk would leave a child on a doorstep? I would say you are better off without them anyway,” he paused for a moment and turned her face so that he could again look in her eyes, “I’m sorry you have had such hardship. I could not imagine… not knowing what family feels like.”

He held her closer to him and kissed her on top of the head.
Quote:
“I don’t know. I am not sure on the whole story. The lady tells me that but I don’t know why I was left there. My mother is still a live but my father isn’t. I am not sure on what happend to him. I haven’t spoken to much of my family and the few that I have spoken too wont tell me much.

Oh well I guess, at least you are here,” she says looking into his eyes.
Quote:
Taian stared back in to Arials eyes and held her close, not wanting to let go. He touched her face and played with her hair, thinking how lonely her life must have been. She won’t be alone anymore, I will make sure of it. Taian thought as he brought the cup of water up to his lips and sipped. It wasn’t long before he decided that a change of subject might be best.

“I think it is almost dusk, Arial. Why don’t we go for that walk?”
Quote:
“ok,” she says still looking at him. “I have been alone for a while before Rexx. I hope I stay happy with Taian. I don’t want anything like what happend with Rexx and I to happen with Taian and I,” she thinks to herself.
Quote:
Taian lifted himself from the seat and set the glass onto a nearby counter. He splashed some water from the crystal basin onto his face before turning back to Arial and helping her up. “This way,” Taian said as he took her hand leading her back through the corridor to the courtyard, “There is a place to climb up into the forest out here.”

Floyd was still playing in the water outside as they passed by. Taian stopped near a large tree root growing up one of the stone walls that had small notches cut in it for steps. He looked at Arial, studying her every feature, before saying, “I think it would be best for me to ascend first. Will you have any problem climbing?”

Before she could answer Taian shot up the vine and offered his hand down for her. “Grab hold and walking up should be rather easy,” he said with a boyish grin.
Quote:
She follows Taian to the court yard. Seeing that she has to climb she wasn’t sure at first about. Surprisingly she got up the stone wall without any trouble. Even though she had to have a little help from Taian.
Quote:
The top of the wall was actually a forest floor, covered in brush, downed leaves, and sparse undergrowth. After pulling Arial up he looked around at the lush green and brown world. The trees were exceptionally tall, conveying the sheer age of the woods. This was the type of place where stories about werewolves, devils, and even the wonderful faeries originated from, and it was obvious too, the air was magical there. Light only splashed down in between clusters of branches and leaves above, leaving only patchy areas where anything could really be investigated in detail. It was dusk, after all. Taian took another glance back towards Arial, to make sure that his angel was still with him, before stepping on the soft earth and picking a path that lead deeper in, or at least further away from the entrance to his home. The wonderful sounds of life filled the forest. Birds chirped and cawed, insects clicked, and somewhere in the distance a wolf was howling. What a wonderful representation of the wild! Taian thought as him and Arial passed numerous mossy trees, the smell of moist dirt and fresh air mixing in their nostrils.

Taian took a deep breath and stopped near a ring of mushrooms, turning back to Arial he asked, “You know, they say that faeries dance in rings like these,” pointing to the circle. His brow furrowed as he looked into Arial’s eyes, and he couldn’t help but ask, “Do you believe in such things?”
Quote:
Getting to the top she saw that there was a forest floor there. She saw that it looked like those forests in the stories and fairies and mystical creatures. She wasn’t sure if she believed in any of those since she has never actually seen one, but she thought the forest was beautiful. She looked all around as they walked. Taking in every detail she could see. She smiles when Taian looked back at her and she followed him down the path. She listed to all the sounds of the forest and took in the smell. From the distance she heard a wolf howl.

“I don’t really believe in fairies or anything like that. Never seen one to know if they are real or not. Maybe, could be real,” she responds to Taian.
Quote:
Taian smiled at Arial and was ecstatic that there was some hope for her to believe. He, being brought up in a world of magic and lore, had no doubts since birth of such things existing, even though he had never seen them. “Well then maybe tonight is the night we shall both first discover them!” Taian said in excited tone of voice, taking one last glance at the ring of ‘shrooms before wandering on through the trees. In a few steps distance he caught a spider’s web across his face and shoulders, which irritated him a slight bit, but he could only laugh it off as he saw that above him Floyd was chasing another bird in rapid circles around the trees and cawing loudly. I hope that is his mate and not some poor soul he has decided to disturb. Taian thought, continuing on. His feet found soft bearing upon the moss covered ground below that felt like the most wonderful of cushions. Up ahead Taian caught sight of something large moving around. Whatever it was, it walked the edge of the woods ahead. A grotto perhaps? he thought as he quieted his feet.

“Look!” Taian whispered to Arial, pointing towards the creature in the distance. He still wasn’t sure what it was, as the light the trees above afforded them wasn’t enough to see such distance, especially through the undergrowth. “I think we may sneak upon it if we remain upon the quiet footing of this moss,” Taian added after crouching down a bit. He motioned for Arial to do the same.
Quote:
She smiles when she hears the excitment in his voice, and follows him through the trees. She laughs when he gets caught in a spider web glad that it wasn’t her. She carrys on following and looks up when she hears a bird cawing. She smiles when she notices it was Floyd and another bird.

Arial looks where Taian tells her to look and sees a creature. She isn’t sure what it was, but she was curious to find out. She crouches down when Taian and moved in closer.
Quote:
As the two sneaked within sight of the creature, moving painstakingly slow to avoid alerting it, Taian saw that it was a young doe with two fawn trailing across the grotto from her. It appeared as if they were to lay down for the night. Since they were wallowing out beds of grass. The doe called out to the two fawn and they came lumbering towards her on weak young knees, falling down on occasion. They were very young, as the white spots on their hide attested. Taian smiled at Arial and motioned for her to get closer.

They came within a spare few meters of the mother and her children before Taian decided that he didn’t want to risk getting any closer. He wouldn’t want to frighten them from their freshly made beds.
Quote:
As they moved slowly and quietly towards the creature the saw that it was a doe with two fawn. She smiles as she sees that they are getting ready to go to sleep. She smiles at Taian and gets closer, but not to close so the they wont scare them off. She looks at Taian again and smiles.
Quote:
Taian stood and pulled Arial up with him before wrapping his arms around her. He looked into her eyes and said as quietly as he could, “I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a deer so close before. What luck you bring to me, my angel.”

Taian’s eyes shone bright in the dim light and his features appeared even more defined in the surreal lighting… the doe nuzzled her fawn and curled around them in the bed of grass. The light of day almost completely gone, he decided that this was enough for one adventure. He kissed Arial again and said, “We had better head back while we still have light enough to see. Unless, of course, you favor curling up like the deer in a bed of matted grass.”
Quote:
She smiles at what he says and kisses him back when he kisses her. “Yeah, we probably should start heading back,” she says to him. She kisses him before they head back.
Quote:
Taian led Arial back the way they had come. Past the spider, who Taian suspected to be quite angry at him, and past the ring of ‘shrooms that seemed to be unusually well lit for it being dusk, and straight to the top of his courtyard wall. Once there he paused for a moment and looked at Arial with a mischievous grin.

Immediately he picked her up in both arms and jumped down. Landing solidly on both feet laughing all the while.
Quote:
Before she could say anything he picked her up and jumped from the wall. She grined at him when he landed. “Thanks, that was fun,” she says still grinning at him.
Quote:
Taian set her down on the bench and sat down quickly beside her. He noticed that he left the tray and the pitcher, which was crawling with ants. It didn’t really matter, but he was surprised at himself that he hadn’t taken it in. Nevermind that, Taian thought to himself as he looked back towards Arial. “You’re quite welcome!” Taian said in the same excited tone of voice, “Now, Imagine that a thousand times more exciting, then you’ll have the fall I took from that bluff.”
Quote:
Laughs a little and says, “I don’t think I want to fall from a bluff like that.”
Quote:
“and I don’t think that I would push you, either,” Taian said in an almost sarcastic tone of voice. He looked into her eyes and caressed her cheek as he put his arm around her and pulled her in close.
Quote:
Noticing the tone of his voice she raises an eyebrow and says, “You would push me in?” She smiles and wraps her arms around him.
Quote:
“I didn’t say that,” Taian said, stifling a laugh while playing with Arial’s hair. “I heard that Adsila is having a birthday party at Headdenz bar… I think that maybe we should show up. I was invited to go anyway,” he suggested after a moment.
Quote:
“Yeah, so was I. We should go,” she says looking at him and smiling. “Yeah, sure you wouldn’t push me in,” she says a little sarcastic like.
Quote:
“I wouldn’t push you in,” Taian said very matter-of-factly, “But I might pick you up and jump in with you.” He said the last part with more than a bit of laughter and sarcasm. He flashed a bright smile to Arial before picking her up and saying, “Let’s go to that birthday party.”
Quote:
Laughs and says “ok then as long as you don’t push me in.” She smiles when he picks her up and says “ok, are you carrying me there?”
Quote:
Taian paused mid-stride and thought for a moment before saying, “Oh, I guess you should walk. I’d hate to think what they would say if I carried you in.”

He laughed a bit and set her back down before giving her a kiss and starting toward the door.
Quote:
“Yeah, I was thinking the same thing,” she says smiling and follows him towards the door.

In my home {Coventry}

September 14th to 15th, 1455 (2007)

Quote:
It’s been a while since Arial has actually spent time at her house. She always gets up, leaves, and then comes home long enough to take care of things around the home and then she is off again. This is the first day that she has had to actually spend time at her house.

During the time since she got back from Shrewsbury she has been busy with Taian, the nice man she met at Crater Falls before she left to Shrewsbury. They have spent a lot of time together at his house and at the cave he found at Crater Falls. She has gotten completly over Rexx and when he left town she didn’t even care. She has also been getting things for her picnic basket for the auction she signed up for. She has been busy going back and forth from the market getting things. Now that she has everything for it and the time she decides to spend the day cooking and baking.
Quote:
Taian crept across the floor, with a lightness of foot belonging to only master thieves, and perched himself behind Arial as she was baking. He thought for a moment about whether he should startle her so, it not being in very good nature to his conscience, but brushed the thought away in a few seconds time. He hadn’t been so happy to see anybody in most of his life, albeit most that he saw were enemies on a field of battle. His figure appeared to ripple with a quick and carefully planned move. He wrapped his arms around Arial and whispered playful, “Gotcha!” in her ear as he kissed her neck. A smile came over his face and his eyes shone a deep cinnamon color as he did so, a sure sign that he was content with his surprise.
Quote:
While she was putting everything together she didn’t hear anyone enter or come up behind her. She didn’t know Taian was behind her until she felt his arms around her. She jumps, almost knocking over the mixing bowl. She turns around and says, “How did you get in here without me knowing? I guess I should lock my doors after I come in,” she says jokingly to Taian. “Glad you decided to come by though and it looks like you did get me. Didn’t even here you come in,” she says smiling and then wraps her arms around him and kisses him softly.
Quote:
Taian laughed and returned the kiss. He stopped to look into her eyes before asking, “What are you baking, most beautiful of angels?”
Quote:
“Something… its for the picnic auction,” she says still smiling at him.
Quote:
“Hmm… so it is to be bid upon then?” Taian said with a brush of his chin and a mysterious look in his eyes. A greater grin came upon his face and he added with a great laugh, “I should hope that my pocket is not empty that day. I would be rather sore if I didn’t get to share that picnic with you.”

He held her tighter and gave her another kiss, “and I am quite adept at being very, very, quiet.”
Quote:
She laughs a little and says, “I am not telling you anything.” Taking his hand she leads him out of the kitchen and into the living room. “I don’t want you knowing until the auction,” she says smiling.
Quote:
Taian nods in agreement and runs a hand through his curly hair, letting the locks fall down around his eyes. He needed to crop it back, it was starting to become a bit of a hassle. As he flipped it back up he grabbed Arial by the waist and pulled her to him. Looking deeply into her eyes he says, “I guess I’ll have to wait, then, but you can’t deny me my fun,” as the words left his mouth he began tickling Arial’s sides wildly.
Quote:
Arial laughs and wiggles trying to get away from Taian’s tickling.
Quote:
Taian stops and smirks a little before asking, “Shouldn’t you be baking?” As the words left his mouth he picked up Arial and carried her back to the kitchen. “You’ll never get finished with all this playing around!” he laughed out.
Quote:
“Yeah, I guess I should be baking. If I don’t do it now I might not ever do it,” she says and carrys on with what she was doing before Taian came by.
Quote:
Taian kisses her neck again and whispers, “I must be going now, but I will come and visit when you are not so busy, dearest.” With that said he walked toward the door.
Quote:
“I don’t want you to go, but ok then,” she says with a frown as she watches him walk towards the door.
Quote:
Taian stopped and looked back through the doorway, noticing the sad look on Arial’s face he paced back over to her and held her close to him, “I can’t leave you in sad state, it wouldn’t do to my conscience. I’ll wait for you to finish cooking.” He grinned and held Arial back a moment, looking into her eyes with a mystifying look in his eyes. “I think Floyd would like you to accompany us back to the ruins anyway.”
Quote:
She smiles, knowing that the frown would work. “Only if you want to stay. It might be a while before I am done. The ruins? Sounds like fun. I will join you guys as soon as I am done with this,” as she said this she heard Yogi bark and come in running into the kitchen. She turns around and looks at him dripping wet and outside in the water. Yogi is a puppy that a good friend of hers gave to her as a present when she came back from Shrewsbury. “What are you doing in here all wet like that?” she says to Yogi. He just looks at her wagging his tail.
Quote:
Taian couldn’t help but laugh as he noticed the trail of water behind the pup. With all these interruptions it’ll be amazing if she ever gets that picnic ready! he thought as he leaned down to pet Yogi. “Arial,” he laughed out as the puppy licked his hands, “I didn’t know you had a dog!”
Quote:
She smiles when Yogi licks Taian on the face. “When I came back from Shrewsbury a friend of mine gave him to me as a present. He is a little trouble maker. Always getting into everything,” she says looking at Yogi. “You can play with him while I am cooking. It will keep you busy for a while at least.” After saying that she turns back and carrys on doing what she was doing before.
Quote:
Taian looks at the pup with a very serious face and says, “Alright, let’s take this outside.” Taian then bounded out the door with the pup in tow. They stopped in the shade of a nearby tree and Taian wrestled the pup, making him growl and bite a bit, but only in play.
Quote:
She smiles and watches them go outside. She carrys on cooking and baking.

She cooks for a few more hours with no interruptions. When she finally finishes it was late afternoon. “I am finally done for today,” she says quietly to herself as she takes what she was baking out of the oven. “Wonder what Taian and Yogi are up too. I haven’t heard them come in since they went outside,” she says to herself. She decides to go outside and see if they are still out there.
Quote:
Taian, noticing the door open quickly ran and hid, with Yogi at his heels. They peeked together from the side of the house at Arial as she came outside and Taian whispered to Yogi, “Alright, when she looks the other way, let’s run out and surprise her.” Yogi just cocked his head and started running, in his lumbering, puppy, way towards Arial. He barked excitedly as he did and Taian just shook his head and walked out behind him.
Quote:
She looks around and for a moment she couldn’t see them. She smiled when she sees Yogi comes running up to her. She leans down and pets him, smiling when he licks her on the face.
Quote:
Taian stood there, watching Arial and her pup and thinking how happy she looked. The mood carried to him very well and he knelt down beside her. “Quite the energetic pup, he is.” He said in a breathless voice.
Quote:
“Yes he is. That’s why I like him. Kind of reminds me of who gave him to me,” she says petting the puppy and looking at Taian. “So, you want to go to the ruins again?”
Quote:
“Well, I didn’t want to go, really, but Floyd’s been cawing about it for days.” Taian said with a bit of a laugh, “He is quite insistent upon it, I have yet to figure why he hasn’t just flown there himself!” He stood and brushed the grass off himself. Offering a hand back down to Arial he added, “Shall we, then?”
Quote:
She laughed a little and says, “Maybe he wants to show you something.” She takes his hand and gets up. “Lets go then. I am sure he has waited long enough,” she says. As they get ready to leave Yogi gives them that puppy dog look and Arial says, “Aww look at that face. I can’t leave him here alone.”
Quote:
Taian laughed, “Well I have no objections to him following… but I’m not gonna carry him.” He gave Arial a grin and put his arm around her.
Quote:
She smiles and says, “He doesn’t need to be carried he can just walk beside us.” She also puts her arm around him.
